Day 94/365

This bag was dropped off directly to The Social Studio in Collingwood, Melbourne by a wonderful person who wanted to support WKBD and TSS. Well (Ken) Done, you!

And do you think when this person donated the Ken Done bag they imagined it would end up in quite the clash of colours it does today? I feel a bit like a walking eye-sore... in a fashionable way, of course!

Day 93/365

If the sunshine goes away, then I'll just have to wear it.

Donated Ken Done cardigan from Christine (Kenneth's cousin). I've worn another version of this fabric before too (see Day 47/365).

Day 92/365

Ken Done and Diane Freis. Now Diane Freis is actually an American-born designer working out of Hong Kong - but when you think of 1980s fashion - she's pretty hard to ignore. My blouse is Diane doing diamonds.

The Ken Done bag featured today has its original tags and is called the 'East/West Tote'. See-through plastic totes... yet another design highlight in the fashion stakes!
A friend recently gifted me a Vogue Australia September 1986. Here is Diane Freis meets the Gold Coast. That hat is a ripper, and I hope you have a "ball" today!

Day 91/365

Blue Monday. One of the best 80s songs. Here's hoping we all groove away the day... especially the Nursing Ken Done-ettes in hospital! I wear navy and a Canteen scarf today to give you lovelies the nod of fashion approval xo

Their scrubs might be a plain blue, but these talented ladies have still shown how we can all do *good fashion for good*
And check out one of my vintage charity pins to support NSW disability organisations. By the looks of the back of this brooch, it's made sometime around the 1950s... love the design art and the *good cause*

Day 90: First Ken Done Group Shot

This goes to show there is nothing nurses can't do...
Salutations and celebrations to these fashionista nurses for sending in their Ken Done Canteen scarf group shot. There will be more photos to come, but they deserved their very own Sunday Spotlight!

For our delight I present to you and *thank* the scrubbed and stylish WKBD nurse fans: (back row, left to right) Peter, Bec, Sally, Denise, Karen, Jo & (front row, left to right) Janet, Jo, Janet and Emma. *Good Nurse Fashion*!
As for me, here I am today - again off to anatomy class - this time in a Ken Done 1995 shirt (donated from Ken and Judy to the Jackie Box). I've celebrated 90s style by paying tribute to the Jason Priestley/Brandon Walsh fashion-style of rolled t-shirt sleeves. My look is me wistfully remembering just how *good/bad* Beverly Hills, 90210 really was...

Day 89/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 11

I don't even know where to start, there's so much to celebrate today! Just look at my grin!

It's been *super* fun celebrating Linda Jackson and her genius for 11 days. I'm ending with this *amazing* bag given to me by my darling partner. Linda, Australia fashion is the better for you!

Today is also the anniversary of Australia II winning the America's Cup in Perth. Who could forget Bob Hawke? Ken Done marked the moment, thank goodness - and with a placemat! I feel a bit like my photo is me waiting at the airport to pick up a Big Sailor Koala. Just my style, really. So lucky that I also have my sail-boat KD shirt too (featured Day 33/365)...

Then there's the shiny piece in Vice Blog on WKBD. So welcome to new Vice readers! Here at *good fashion for good* we're all about celebrating 1980s Australian fashion, all to raise money for The Social Studio. So please enjoy and please think about donating in a Ken Done item, sending in a photo of you in Done, or donating a dollar or two for this really really good cause :-)

Day 88/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 10

I'm taking my inspiration from Linda today with regard to her use of colour and form; in this case geometry matching with natural shapes. These earrings are second-hand from a vintage store in California. When I saw them, I absolutely loved them!

And for those of you seeking inspiration this weekend, go and see all the *wonderful* dressed-up statues in Sydney CBD. Yes, Linda is involved, yes, Jenny is involved and yes, Ken is involved... I'm in my element!

Day 87/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 9

Linda + Leather = Love It!

This green leather dress - which I'm wearing more as a jacket - is stunning, stunning, stunning. Just not enough is done with green leather in fashion, I think.

And many thanks to the wonderful Charlie for letting me know about the exciting snippet on What Ken Be Done in The Big Issue recently. The Big Issue is a shining light in social enterprise and offering work opportunities to people. I'm absolutely chuffed to have their endorsement!

Day 86/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 8

What else can I say? How can one not simply *love* Linda Jackson's fashion skills?!

Day 85/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 7

We've been celebrating Linda Jackson and her accoutrements for one week now, and on this seventh day I get to do double-Jackson again! Jacket and bag!

And 0h how I love 1980s jackets... a little bit jersey, a little bit baggy, almost like a bathroom robe... but *saved* by the screen-printed design! Like your very own label, Linda - we love you!

Day 83/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 5

It's another Sunday at my yoga school learning anatomy and physiology. Therefore today I'm practising 'less is more' in the fashion stakes - which really is an anathema to me! I'm interested in how one can use colours like orange and pink to bring out browns. Thankfully I have one of Linda Jackson's bags to ground me - and quite literally - with earthy tones, and a natural leaf design.

Day 82/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 4

I tried posting my photo this morning, but the computer wouldn't play. So I saw it as a sign that I should get out and about into the day, and find somewhere *more fun* for my daily post.

Here's me at Gould's Bookshop in Newtown. Anyone who knows this place knows just what a great secondhand store this is (even if it feels like being in a deathtrap if someone started a fire!). I was there looking for a particular book to gift to a dear friend. We had no luck, but I did happen to find The Muppet Show comic book from 1970. Delightful!

So a lovely day in sunny Sydney with Linda Jackson's *amazing* bag.
How Is It Done? Day by day by day... for 365 of them!

Day 81/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 3

Inspiration Friday. This vintage Barry Joseph (Sydney) dress is distinctly Linda Jackson-esque. As you can see, I sure am inspired today!

And if you haven't heard enough about our featured fashion goddess, read here.

*Congratulations* to The Social Studio for winning Victorian Small Business of the Year Award! Yet another reason they are ace!

Day 80/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 2

One thing I admire about the fashion of Linda Jackson, and other Australian greats of the 1980s is their tireless pursuit to match all aspects of an outfit. Never is there too much colour, never can one over-match.

Now my item today is on a much smaller scale than her wonderful outfits, but see here the bag and purse matching, matching, matching. No wonder I need to wear a top with fireworks - Linda's style is an explosion of colour, creativity and wonder!

Day 79/365: Celebration of Linda Jackson: Day 1

We interrupt our normal programming to celebrate one of our most important 1980s Australian fashion gurus, Linda Jackson, as she celebrates her 60th birthday today! Hooray for Linda - you and your fashion *rocks*!
Over the next week or two, I'll be showcasing my small collection of Linda Jackson 1980s fashion items. I've been speaking to Linda and she is VERY supportive of the *good fashion for good* movement. Stay tuned to see how she becomes involved!

But on Day One, I'll leave the words to Linda herself, who recently gave this advice to people wanting to make a difference in this world:

Go for it. I don’t know what to say now because you can do anything, you can go anywhere via the internet. So you just have to go for it. I couldn’t imagine any other advice except just do it.
P.S. Of course, no fear for the KD purists, there will always be a Ken Done item on me too!

Day 78/365

Christine's donated scarf, meet my own Ken Done scarf (first worn Day 26/365). Here's to the functionality of The Scarf - as belt, as bag decoration etc. etc.

Day 77/365

Sometimes on a Monday you have to spice things up. This dress is labelled, 'The Opera Collection, John Hilton.' Can we do Opera-style on a Monday? Yes, we can!

And I particularly like how this dress sets off Christine's donated Done PVC shopping tote bag. All class.

Day 76/365 (2): First meeting with Ken's cousin AND more donations!

Look at the concentration on my face! This is my meeting with Christine today. Christine is Ken's cousin and she worked in the Ken Done store for over twenty years. I got an email from Christine this week inviting me over to meet her as she wanted to donate some of her own KD items to What Ken Be Done. Yes please!

Here is just a handful of photos as Christine and her husband Peter, share some of their KD collection. These items are not donated to WKBD, but I still wanted to share them with you for a Sunday afternoon delight. Enjoy!
1. The 2000 Sydney Olympics gift box for all the people who attended the opening ceremony. Love the Ken Done postcard stickers!
2. Original 1988 Ken Done Bicentennial commemorative sports coat. Check that interior design! And, although you can't see it here, trust me, it has the upside down "Down Under" scrawled across the back.
3. Ken Done gold jewellery... even the little fish have an original Ken Done signature!

4. This is me looking with delight and complete thanks for the donations from Christine. Now I'm not showcasing what she has given yet - we've got days and days to feature these beauties in my daily blog! OMG!!!
5. Christine, Peter and me. We had a wonderful time together, not least of all because Christine calls Ken 'Kenneth'. Love it! Thank you both so *very* much for your generosity! Christine and Peter also do a whole heap of their own *good work* helping children who need medical aid in Bali. Truly lovely and inspirational Aussies. (And Peter makes a mean cup of tea!)

And, for all you KD art fans out there, check out how Ken's artwork has evolved since the 70s. This is an original work of his, signed and dated 1970 (Judy Done is the lady in the background).
And now a decade later, look at this 1981/2 original work. The Ken Done artist we know and love is born in fluro, graphic designer, Australiana detail!
I have a champagne in my hand as I press publish. What a *lucky, lucky* Sunday I'm having!

*good fashion* *good people* *good times* all for the *good* of The Social Studio.
