Day 187/365: Starting a New Year in Polycotton...

Does this little Done-nette seem familiar? It's me circa 1987 wearing the famous Down Under Ken Done rainbow jumper! My dear friend Bridget sent me this photo recently (it's been on her fridge for over 10 years and features her now-grown baby brother Sam in his Stackhat!). She was *super excited* to send it to me for What Ken Be Done. And I was so pleased that I now have *hard evidence* of when my own Ken Done 1980s love affair began that I wanted to start 2011 by sharing it with you. It's going to be a *good* year, peeps! And with your continued help, its going to be a *bumper* year for The Social Studio :-)
And from one KD 1980s polycotton jumper to another... look at this pearler today! My especially *cool* jumper featured is a donated by Cousin Christine and is seriously one of the best Ken Done pieces I think I have ever laid my eyes on. It's a New Year fireworks celebration, and it's a fleecy polycotton jumper! It's in mint condition, and has even maintained that 1980s jumper shape... you know all a bit puffy. Love It! Thanks thanks thanks Cousin Christine for your ongoing donations xo
Today is our last day in Japan so it also seems fitting to go out with fireworks and celebrations...

hahah I have a photo in a pose just like that as a child, a sign of things to come....

I was wearing an all green tracksuit though.

Also I saw a grown man wearing a stack hat the other day, I got a little excited.
