Day 289/365

Glasses from Japan, Photios Brothers vintage earrings, handmade necklace, vintage Finlaw Melbourne dress, Sportscraft belt, Ken Done scarf, vintage boots from op shop, Ken Done makeup bag donated by Cousin Christine.

Oh, how I love makeup bags from the 1980s! And as I hope you agree, this Ken Done version (donated by dearest Cousin Christine) is a *doozie*!

Have you also seen Ken Done's self portrait for the Archibald Portrait Prize for 2011 yet? I'm *giving *snaps* on the combinations of black, white and yellows; a startling and wonderful colour combination. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it...

Cousin Christine Rocks!

and so does Ken self portrait! Its a bit brutal- the *turkey neck* wrinkles are tough- but I guess you got to tell it like it is. I'm going to go those year (after about 5 years of avoiding it) so I can vote for Ken in People's Choice!

Have we seen that scarf before Jackie?

There was a Social Studio story on the 7:30 report last night in NSW.

Anon: Is that 'whoa' for Ken Done portrait, or me, or us both?!! :-)

Bang on, Birdmonkey: Cousin Christine is a winner! And thanks for sharing your thoughts on KD's picture... your learned, artistic eye is very welcome. Go People's Choice! xo

And yes, the scarf is turning into a bit of my favourite. I wore it last here:

Did you see Ken's painting gets a small mention in John Macdonald's review of the Archi in the SMH today. (sat 16/4)
