Day 341/365: I should be so *lucky* OR I Can Ken Done It!

Wow! Up goes our total! Gee Wizz these Melbourne-ites are *rad*!
Ken Done glasses, Ken Done necklace, Fake & Hilarious Ken Done t-shirt donated by Jessica, vintage cardigan, handmade vintage skirt from Broadway Betty, Raben boots.

Here I am at Mentone beach this afternoon...

Today I feel pretty *lucky* and there's a bunch of reasons why. First up is this FAKE and completely ACE Ken Done rip-off t-shirt that Jessica donated to What Ken Be Done? at last night's WKBD Party-Extravaganza @ The Social Studio. I feel especially grateful as I'm a long way from home this weekend. Believe it or not, I had packed a Ken Done swimsuit for wearing today that was *good* but honestly it didn't quite do justice to this *great* vintage skirt. So imagine my luck then when Jessica strolled over after our seminar at TSS yesterday and said, "I've found this t-shirt and thought you might be interested. I'm not sure it's real Ken Done..." Well no, it's not genuine Ken Done - but it's having a genuinely *good* laugh at the KD brand and using a great pun to boot! Of course I had to post it up! Plus the colours matched my skirt so well. The swimsuit will have to wait for another day... although there are only 24 more to go..... Thank you, Jessica! :-)
And here's a quick photo journal of some of the highlights of yesterday... Talk about lucky...

This is The Social Studio filled with people for the seminar. We raised $420 to support their *good* work.
And below are the photos from my evening party with family, friends and supporters. Anna, in green, is making a speech about The Social Studio in their The Cutting Table restaurant. I had a *lovely* evening with many of my most special friends, and we raised another $410. Amazing!! I can't recommend The Cutting Table enough - go there please and take your friends! It's truly wonderful.
Here's Grace and I just after our seminar (both wearing TSS gear: me in leggings and dress, Grace with her scarf)...
This is my brother, James and sister-in-law, Susan. Yes, it's a *family shot* in Ken Done! Friends thought James' tie was genuine Ken Done, when in fact Susan had got the talented Suzanne Starbuck to re-work some doona fabric into a tie! And she's got that favourite Kel Knight KD shirt on... she bought it back from eBay!
Next up is our Queen-Done-Nut, Lyndel. At last count of the evening, she had FOUR separate Ken Done pieces on!! xo

(Note: A.Fan, I think your donation account is rising and rising!)
Here's my Step-Dad, Michael showing how *everyone* can look fantastic in Social Studio fashion...
So my HUGE thanks to everyone for last night. What a wonderful time, and thank you for ALL the ongoing support xo xo xo

Hey your t-shirt is by Sydney artist Keg Da Souza. She is crazy for puns- makes zines about them.

So glad her work has made into the blog.

I like Social Studio's dinner parties in June for fundraising too

Oh Lyndel, you are the Queen Done-Nut. Plus the photo with Susan and James. Hmmm, I think I owe another $20.

Great post today Jackie with the photos from your Melbourne gathering. The KD outfits on show are most impressive, it looks like a fun night. Your outfit today is delightful and that skirt is really fun.

Birdmonkey: Oh, I knew you'd work out who made such a *great* t-shirt! And when I took a look at her blog, I realised I've seen Keg's work before... those illustrations and puns are SO great! Hooray for solving that AND showcasing such fine pun-work!

A. Fan: another $20? Yes, please!! We're getting closer and closer that $15,000. Hooray! xo

Anon: I had so much fun at TSS and with people coming together to support the cause - Amazing! And we even got a little extra Ken Done in the room with Lyndel, Susan and James... *good* work all round! :-)

Lyndel: A. Fan is right: you really are the Queen Done-nut... I bow before thee and all thy *good* support xo xo
