Day 276/365: Domino Dancing

Lafont glasses, handmade earrings, Ken Done scarf (WKBD collection), Pelaco Australia vintage shirt, domino brooches handmade by me! Miss Shop dress from op shop, Ken Done capri pants from Cousin Christine, Fluevogs.

One of your favourite Ken Done patterns is back, and this time as a pair of capri pants! Three cheers for Cousin Christine and her ongoing generosity to What Ken Be Done: hip, hip, hooray!

As for me, I'm domino dancing my way, all day, through this Thursday. Got to love monochrome dot fashion in combination with monochrome flower arrangements...

Day 275/365: Demure Drop-Waist Done Double...

Quite demure for me, eh? But I couldn't resist the ability to do another Double Done pattern (cardigan previously seen here). Plus, I have to bask in the 1980s *joy* of this dress's drop-waist. The second photo is me holding the 'waist'!

And, should you feel like you can't quite select 'Bleeding Eyes' today, be warned (and potentially *excited* - like me): Cousin Christine has donated another batch of vintage Ken Done and there are THREE more bike pants to go!!! So much great Done out there - wanna buy some?! xo

Day 274/365

Vintage Sunski glasses, Ken Done napkin as scarf (I just found it this weekend in the Cat Protection Society Op Shop, Enmore), Sportsgirl scarf, bird brooch by Jessica Maurer, vintage shirt dress, leggings by The Social Studio, Arche LN shoes, Ken Done bag donated by Susan.

When the LiP* said to me this morning I look like a lizard, all I could think of is some bloke in a thick Australian accent saying, "Flat out like a lizard drinking, mate". Apparently it means being very busy. And that I am: busy proving What Ken Be Done ... with all your help**, that is! xo

* Live In Photographer; helper extraordinnaire.
** Another gentle reminder of the WKBD charity eBay auction here!

Day 273/365

Glasses from Japan, Photios Brothers vintage earrings, Saba cardigan, vintage Katies dress from op shop, Ken Done skirt donated by Ken & Judy Done, Fluevogs, Ken Done purse donated by Bec.

You may be familiar with the 1980s ra-ra skirts, but how well do you know a one-ra skirt? I'm showing off this particular style today: it's an extra layer skirt over a dress. And how could I resist; I just had to show off this wonderful Double Done pattern thanks to the recent KD purse donation from Bec. xo

And yes, you've seen this pattern a few times now: like here and here, and ready for a charity sale here! Happy Monday :-)

Day 272/365

I feel a little like this outfit is 'Wizard of Oz, Dorothy' meets 'East Sydney yachting club' meets 1980s Ken Done...

It's one of those days when I found the outfit created itself, and I just had to follow the ride it took me on!

And if you too want to have this kind of experience - where the *joy* of wearing Ken Done takes you to an unexpectedly *good* kind of style - well then start bidding on our Charity Auction this evening! All money raised goes straight to The Social Studio. So much *fun* to be had!

Day 271/365

Vintage sunski glasses, anchor earrings from Santa Barbara,Tatty Devine necklace, black ballet-top, Ken Done skirt as dress-top, Ken Done bike pants - donated by Cousin Chrsitine, Simon de Winter socks, Fluevogs, and Ken Done bag (donated by Iain).

Perhaps today it's best to call me Nemo; yes, your very own clown fish a la Ken Done style!

What can I say? I'm just a very *happy* girl in 1980s bike pants (see also here and here)!

Day 270/365

Vintage Sunski glasses, shell earrings from op shop, vintage necklace from Hawaii, 1980s top from op shop, 1980s denim skirt, Fluevogs, Ken Done scarf (donated by Cousin Christine), Ken Done bag (donated by Birdmonkey).

You know you're wearing 1980s clothing when even your fabric top has denim printed on it!

I found this ruched 1980s top in an op shop a number of years ago. It was so *bad/good* that it was a must-buy! I'll leave it to you to decide just how to explain the *inspiration* it offers this Friday!

Day 269/365

I bow down to the greatness of Sally for finding this absolute Ken Done vintage gem in an op shop! 1980s-style, 1980s pastels, oversize pockets, heavy cotton... gasp!

And, think dear readers, as it's a donation to What Ken Be Done, you too (very soon) could own this shirt! Yes, you too can own a piece of this quintessential KD sail-boat fabric (see also here and here). Friends will gasp! Family members will faint! Stars will stop you on the street to ask you where you shop! AND, you'll be able to tell them all you are wearing Ken Done for *good*!

And if this wonderful shirt isn't quite your style, A-OK, please just check out these other items too (new pieces added last night)... :-)

Sally, you are a delight! Happy Days to you all xo

Day 268/365

Ken Done scarf, handmade earrings, 'Made in Hawaii' vintage top, Beecher Brook pants, Birkenstocks, Ken Done 1980s vintage backpack donated by Cousin Christine.

Time to share a secret. A number of years ago, I was running a leadership development group with young people in Western Sydney. As our program came to a close these *great* young people told me that between each other they had dubbed me 'Taller Dora the Explorer'. With my vintage 1980s Ken Done backpack on today, I can kind of see why. Can it be a compliment to be told you look like a cartoon character?!

Oh, and more Ken Done *goodies* have been added to our eBay charity auctions... Exciting!

Day 267/365: Yes, it's a dress!

I just love the Working Girl-esque feeling of this vintage Anthea Crawford 1980s polyester dress. It's a *treat* to have a baggy white blouse firmly stitched into a black pencil skirt for *good* :-) Sorry my hair is not a full-boof like Melanie and Sigourney (it's still too humid for this), but I hope you enjoy Ms Crawford's attention to detail: a touch of green to be seen! What with reds, pinks and greens against a white base, it felt time to showcase this Ken Done 'Down Under' purse (as you know, this style is a real favourite: see here and here).
And have you seen my new 'You judge' boxes? They're at the close of each post now. It might prove a *good* option for those of you who aren't comment-type people, but still want to provide some feedback. Hooray for participation! xo

Day 266/365

Vintage glasses, vintage "Maxine" dress from op shop, Saba belt, Jonathan Aston stockings, Fluevogs, Ken Done coin purse donated by Stef (Thanks!).

In this little Ken Done *gem* is $3 that is bringing me happiness in the form of a coffee. The joy a morning coffee brings me this year is doubled when I remember each day I've also pledged another $3 to The Social Studio too. (That's more than $1000... just shows how it adds up!) And if you're ever around Collingwood, be sure to drop by The Social Studio and have a coffee in their own cafe at the rear of the store. Very *good*

And if you need any more ideas what to do with some of your own spare change, or penny-savings, then check out HERE the beginnings of our next round of What Ken Be Done charity eBay auctions. All money raised goes directly to The Social Studio. I'll be adding Ken Done goods until Wednesday evening this week, so more to come too!

A HUGE thanks to Bree for creating our What Ken Be Done promotional poster. We think Bree's got a really *good* eye for design and fun: Hooray! And thanks too, to dear Kate for putting us in touch with Bree. My lovely mate Jason has helped print up some copies of these posters (A4 and A3) to stick around the joint. If you've got an ideal place to put one up - at the work watercooler, in an op shop, in a clothing store, anywhere! - then drop me an email and I'll send you some: jackie@goodfashionforgood.com

Am I serious about Ken Done and other Australian 1980s fashion? Am I serious about us supporting The Social Studio? You'd better believe it, baby!

Day 264/365: Well *Done* The Social Studio!

I left you last night as my friend Bec and I headed off to represent The Social Studio at the FGI Awards for Excellence. In our TSS finery, we certainly stood out from the cocktail dress crowd in a *good*way!

And the *good* news is TSS won the 'Sustainable Design Award'. Hooray!! Many people last night were so excited to celebrate how wonderful TSS is, and so the *good* word goes out wider and wider. Brilliant!

In theory then, as the next photo suggests, I woke up today ready to beat back the Sydney media, wanting to hound me about the greatness of TSS. But the reality is, Bec and I had such a *good* night that I'm repelling all visitors and thanking the fashion gods for the *goodness* of my new Ken Done sunglasses; cutting out all but the most necessary of light ;-)
